Task - Creating your own PowerPoint presentation

To complete this training, you are required to create a PowerPoint presentation on a topic of your own choice. It needs to be informative and reflect what has been taught throughout this online training tool.   Your presentation is required to include the following.           1.  Title slide          2.  A slide of text used to inform the viewer          3.  A slide with text and an image Some areas to focus on are making sure that the structure of the slide is coherent, the font is easy to read, the colours used reflect the topic  and lastly. that  there are contrasting colours between the text and background.  The completed task is to be emailed to sophia.el1@studytafensw.edu.au .

Tips & tricks

There are many different methods that can be used to improve the success of a presentation. Some of those include:            1.  Keep it simple Don't overcrowd the slide! Stick to dot points and simple sentences when creating a slide. People don't want to read an essay during a presentation and if the presenter refers to the slide when talking, it will help the audience to understand.           2. C ontrasting colours   Using light colours on a dark background or vice versa will mean that people won't struggle to read the text on screen. Using a black and white combination is simple and effective, but trying colours like light blue on dark grey for example, is another combination that is just as effective.           3.  Make it engaging As said in point 1, people don't want to read large chunks of text on a PowerPoint. As there are many different features of PowerPoint, it allows for ideas and information to be expressed in a way that is both interesting and creative. It gives the user tools that can be used to enhance their presentation and make it engaging for their audience.  Some benefits of using PowerPoint are:           1.  Creative          2.  Expressive         3. Customisable          4. Easy to use            5. Basic features of PowerPoint

          Slides   These options can be found in the 'Slides' icon, on the 'Home' or 'Insert' tabs in PowerPoint. They are used to add additional slides to the presentation. The different options mean that the information on the PowerPoint can be displayed in the desired layout.            Design  There are various templates that are available to be chosen from, and there is also the option to change the colour selection in each template. The benefit of having so many different options, is that it is easier to find one that best meets the visual wants of the presenter. This can be accessed from the 'Design' tab in PowerPoint. Another similar feature to this is 'Design Ideas', which is an option found under the 'Design' tab.
